Biodiversity Centre
TrEES has also
launched our Community Biodiversity programme, which includes establishing
a bio-diversity resource centre at Giant Cash and Carry, USJ. The
Biodiversity Outreach Centre seeks to address the growing interest
the Malaysian public has for the environment and biodiversity.
The resource
centre will serve as a one-stop centre on biodiversity issues for
the community and is designed to educate the local community about
biodiversity and the role they play in its conservation and sustainable
use. The centre showcases working models on solar energy, rainwater
harvesting and composting as well as a demonstration biodiversity
garden. The information available will enable local communities
to adopt more sustainable lifestyles in their households and businesses.
The centres
will also provide the key elements needed to help the public reduce
the negative impact we all have on this diversity.

Environmental Awareness Programme
TrEES environmental awareness programmes reach out to a wide
spectrum of Malaysian Society, enhancing public awareness of
environmental issues and providing effective solutions for their
concerns. These include developing interpretive and educational
materials as well as resource materials for the community in
the form of videos, manuals, booklets and posters.
