Vision
Our vision is to nurture a generation of Malaysians that is not only concerned about the environment, but has the capacity to manage their resources and lead sustainable lifestyles. To this end, TrEES forms partnerships with diverse communities to develop programmes that are designed to be hands-on, that emphasis learning-through-doing to instill greater awareness on the need to be good ecological managers of our biodiversity and natural resources. Our strength lies in our ability to work with the community, listening and taking into consideration their needs and making them equal partners in the planning, design and implementation of our projects. By adopting such methods the participating communities have a sense of ownership and belonging in the project giving them the motivation to ensure the success of the programme.

A Model in the Sustainable Management of its Natural Resources
- A network of parks managed by a single agency that is guided by a single comprehensive legislation to protect and manage our wealth of natural resources
- The implementation of clear and well targeted actions plans on the ground that take into account biological diversity and natural habitats
- Integration of ecological economics into national policy
- Smart resource management – renewable energy, green technology and integrated river basin management
- Green neighbourhoods – urban areas with green lungs of native plant species

- Incorporation of environmental education in the national school curriculum
