TrEES Programmes Are Supported By;

Community Waste Management Programme

'This twelve year old programme pioneered community recycling in Malaysia and is driven in partnership with local councils, recyclers, retailers, private companies, charity groups, residents and schools.

Under the programme, TrEES has established community recycling centres that provide the community with easy access to recycling ; at TrEES retail community recycling centres, participating charitable organizations and participating schools.

Members of the public are paid when recycling at TREES retail community recycling centres. At the participating charitable organizations, the public donate their recyclables to these centres, thus providing financial aid to them

Over the years through this programme, TrEES has diverted thousands of tonnes of waste from the waste stream for recycling and also helped to raise much needed funds for participating charitable organisations and schools. These include the Pure Life Society in Puchong, Rumah Amal Cheshire Selayang and Pusat Cahaya Kesayangan Klang as well as schools in the Klang Valley. Many of the schools under the programme use the funds raised to further environmental conservation in their school.

TrEES has also assisted a number of organisations with their in-house greening efforts by helping develop strategies to reduce their negative impact on the environment and enhance staff participation in these efforts. These include the ABB Malaysia Sdn Bhd, YTL Corporation Bhd and BASF Malaysia

This programme is sponsored by YTL Corporation Berhad
